This question came up on the German board, and I'm really unsure:
In the expansion game (not the Rohan scenario) can the Ents attack a besieged shadow army?
Say the Shadow has captured Helm's deep and in face of a counter-attack retreated into the stronghold. The Ents are in the Fords of Isen and have "free" units in Fangorn. Can they attack directly? Do they need to move into Helm's Deep first (next to the besieging FP army)? Or is it not possible at all?
Thanks in advance.

They are able to attack the army.
Imagin them attacking an Isengard army in the Orthanc Region, don't you think the Uruks would try to use the Stronghold as protection?
The fact that the Shadow army is besieged doesn't matter when the Ents attack.

when the etns want to attack a besieged shadow army in orthanc. do they need to stand in the same region like normal armies do? in the german rulebook they need to stand adjacent to a region when they want to attack...(maybe only normal attacks, right?)
