Hi all...
I've been enjoying War of the Ring quite a bit. I've played it three times since I've bought it last month...
Anyway, point of this post is to see what other games people might recommend that are along the same lines.
Bit of background... I've dabbled in most forms of gaming - CCGs (MTG, Shadowfist, L5R - this is the only one I'm still playing); RPGs (mostly D&D and related); Miniatures games (fantasy - Clan War, MK; space combat, B5Wars, FullThrust, Starmada); Board games (Zombies, MK:Dungeons, RoboRally), War games (Diplomacy, Risk, Axis & Allies, and now WotR).
This last group is where my interest seems to be focusing at the moment. Risk and A&A were always occasional games we'd play when we didn't have anything better going on. Diplomacy is great, a classic, but getting 7 players together makes every game an event rather than just an afternoon or evening gaming session.
What I'm looking for are more Wargames. Stuff like A&A or WotR, but maybe the next level. Preferably games that comfortably switch from two to up to 5 or 6 players* but a good game can overlook this detail...
A couple I'm curious about are Hammer of the Scots (also a two player game, but would primarily be of interest to my brother and I who share an interest in the period) and the other FFG game based on the Game of Thrones novels... Any other suggestions are more than welcome...
* (my one issue with WotR is that it's primarily a two player game and we usually have anywhere from 3-6 people interested in getting together on any given game day)
