Hi, is it possible for the defending army to retreat into a stronhold in the first battle round?
That means is it possible when the enemy declares an attack to a army in a region with a stronghold that the army retreats into the stronghold at the beginning of the battle phase?
Or is the retreat into the stronghold only possible a the next battle phase after removing the losses?

Read page 14 and 15 in the English Rule Book:
"Before every battle round, the defenders must choose either to Fight a Field Battle or to Retreat into a Siege"
You are allowed to retreat into a Siege as soon as the enemy is attacking you, prior to the first combat round.

Let's see if I have undestood this point. In the first round of battle you can decide whether retreating into the stronghold (siege) or fighting a field battle. In the following rounds you can do the same choice if you previously chose to fight a field battle, until you choose to retreat into the stronghold. From this moment on you have no choice but be besieged, unless you win a sortie. Is a bit confusing, so please correct any error (and sorry for the poor English).
