If the Deadmen attack a Shadow Army in Orthanc, forcing it to retreat, and Saruman is left behind in Orthanc, is he eliminated? If not, how can he be? How can the FP capture Orthanc? Are these rules the same for the Ents, apart from the forced retreat?

If the Deadmen attack a Shadow Army in Orthanc, forcing it to retreat, and Saruman is left behind in Orthanc, is he eliminated? No, as the Army was not eliminated. If he is without a Shadow Army, the only way is to move an Ent into Orthanc. How can the FP capture Orthanc? If Saruman is there alone, a Free Peolpls Army can simply move into Orthanc. Saruman would be unaffected. Are these rules the same for the Ents, apart from the forced retreat? Yes, except for their ability to eliminate Saruman while he is alone by moving in.

If the FP uses the Paths of the Dead to bring the Dead Men into play, do they receive the 2 Dead Men in the Starting Setup PLUS the one for Paths of the Dead (3 total) or only the 1 for the Paths card?
