One other house rule that may be helpful for players that are having too many FP victories is to treat Smeagol Tiles as O + Reveal tiles. This will both slow down FP Ring progress and allow the SP to place Nazgul (new WK) and play more cards on the FSP early.

Another option is to add the following rule regarding Smeagol tiles:
If Smeagol is the Guide AND a new tile drawn is the remaining Smeagol tile then the FP takes no damage BUT Smeagol leaves(escapes) from the Fellowship and is immediately replaced by a new Guide.
I'm not sure whether the SP should receive the "We Shall Get It" card or not in this scenario.
