Sorry if this has been covered - couldn't find it in the FAQ and the master event card list didn't clarify either How does Breaking of the Fellowship work if Gollum is the Guide? Do you: A. Just apply 1 corruption B. Draw a hunt tile, discard it and if it's not an eye/fellowship special tile then apply a corruption C. Draw a hunt tile, discard it and then apply a point of corruption D. Some other combination I've not thought of! It all depends what bit of the card text the ' If Gollum is the Guide apply a point of corruption instead' applies to. Nigel

I think (and I've always played so) that instead refers to the whole text above, because it seems to me "overpriced" to trade an action die, an avent card and a Hunt tile for just 1 corruption point. There are other cards whose effect triggers on gollum: think to "Candles of Corpses". If it was as, e.g., your "C." possibility, and you roll three "6", you'd get the bomb of 6 corruption points (and in that card it's not written instead either)!. So, I think wording should always be interpreted a kind of "fairly", don't know if you catch what I mean...

Yes, if Gollum is the guide you "just" add one Corruption.
