Two questions I have on Companion move event cards: 1. For "There and Back Again" and "We are the Swifter" do the companion(s) have to separate in order to move (including getting the the extra region(s))? Were these cards intentionally meant to be different from 'Gwahir the Windlord' which specifically says you can 'Move or separate'? As an example for There and Back again, if I have Legolas already separated and 3 regions away from the Woodland Realm, do I need to use 3 action dice to move him twice and then play the card to get the political benefits, or can I just play the card with one action die to move him 3 spaces and get the political benefit?
2. For Gwahir the Windlord, do other movement restrictions still apply? Specifically can this card be used to cross mountains or leave a besieged stronghold? The events of the books would imply that the Companions could do these things if being carried by Gwahir.

About 1, I see that "there and back again" explicitly says separate, while the other two cards you mentioned move or separate, so the answer to you question should definitely be that legolas must still belong to the company to use the card the way you described. But I think the card says something different: at first, you choose to separate, say, Pippin; then if Gimli or Legolas are (it's not necessary that you separate just one or both of them) in the stated regions you get the political benefits. As it's written, it seems that the 2 actions are independent... isn't it right?
About 2, I'm hoping so, it would be very "narrative" :-) Addendum: If I separate companion(s) from the fellowship, do I add to the Level of 4 stated by the card the fellowship position on the track? (I mean, if the fellowship is on 2, may I move of 6?)

For 1, yes I know the FAQ makes it clear that the two paragraphs are independent (Pippin can separate and then if Legolas was in the Woodland Realm you still get the political benefit). It just seems odd that the first paragraph only supports a separation - it seems like you should be able to also move an already separated companion with this card.

Q 'There and Back Again' - Does it has to be Gimli or Legolas that was separated in order to Activate and move the nations on the Political track??
A No, the card is applied to its widest possible extent (i.e. if you do not have a Companion to separate but the second sentence applies (which it does), the second sentence takes effect).
You can play this card even if there are no Companions left in the Fellowship and use its political benefits if Gimli or Legolas are where they are needed.
This is the answer from the FAQ, please consult it before posting.
As for "We Prove the Swifter" the card says you must separate them but the "Master Document " says Move or separate so either play it as it stands on the card or decide before you play that it also allows you to move an allready separated Companion or group of Companions.
2 Yes, this movement must follow all normal movement restrictions.
Yes ExistenZ, you add them all up, Character Level + the Fellowship Marker's position on the Fellowship track + the extra 2 Regions provided by the card.

I did consult the FAQ for There and Back Again but that wasn't my question. My question is can you use the card to move a previously separated companion. Does the "Master Document" also say 'move or separate' for this card?

The "Master Document" only says separate, not move. The "Master Document " is available for Download in the Downloads section of my site: www.warofthering.webb.se/[glow=green,2,300]Veldrin[/glow]
