Saruman: Does he can upgrade his Regulars to Elites while he is besieged in Orthanc?
Several Combat Events say e.g. 'play if the defending Army is inside the borders of a Free Peoples Nation’.
Normally I would suppose, these are Events to strength the Defender, but theoretically it is playable as an Attacker too!
Example: ‘The Power of Tom Bombadil’ has such a Combat Event’ (‘Advantageous Position’). The Fellowship Player attacks inside Rohan a Saruman Force. Can this Event played offensively to subtract 1 from the Shadow Players combat roll?
One the other side, there are Shadow Player Events that are the same but seems to be here to strength the Attacker (e.g. on ‘Denethors Folly’ is a combat event ‘Teufelei aus Orthanc’ –German Title. The event can be used if at least one Isengard figure takes part in combat and the defending Army is in a stronghold (surely dedicated to the Attack on Helms Klamm in the Books)! But the defending Army can be Sarumans Army besieged in Isengard also! Is this allowed?
The Fellowship is declared to be in a FP Settlement. Can I subtract (heal) immediately one Corruption Point?
May the Fellowship moves on (move the Movement Marker) during that turn (see next question, too)?
About healing:
Assume the Fellowship is in a city or stronghold:
Is it enough
A: to show the last known position of the Fellowship in the city/stronghold to heal one corruption point each turn (even the movement marker moves forward)
OR
B: does the Fellowship have to stay in the city/stronghold AND the Movement marker has to be on Zero as long as the FP wants to heal a Corruption Point each turn?
About Card texts like e.g. ‘Play only if Boromir is in a Gondor Region’ (Card ‘House of the Stewards’). Recruit one Gondor unit (Regular or Elite) in the Region containing Boromir.
If Boromir is in Minas Tirith and the stronghold is besieged, can he recruit the unit to reinforce the stronghold?
Candles of Corpses: Roll three dice, each 4 or more is a corruption point.
Can a Character (Characters?) be used to take the damage?
I play an Event card to move an army more than one region. Can I 'recruit'
(Pick up) troops from the region(s) the army moves through?
Otherwise, is it possible to drop off some troops in a region(s) the army moves through?
About Combat Events: Does these Events keep there Effect until the very end of a combat round? Example: After removing casualties, the Shadow Player removes four additional figures to get 4 more rolls! What happens, if the Fellowship Player Combat Event says, ‘the Shadow Player rolls only three dice’? There are a lot of possible combinations that are not clear!
For the following question, I already found an answer here but…
Question: Does Gandalf keep his 'Gandalf the Grey' +1 Combat Modifier as 'Gandalf the White' (not mentioned on the Character Card)?
The answer in the forum is: You switch Gandalf the Grey's card for Gandalf the White's, so yes he loses the "Captain of the West" ability.
His ability to negate the Nazgûl is far more useful...
-> His ability to negate the Nazgûl is far more useful...
Yes it is, especially against Isengards Elites where normally no Nazgûl are used!
A good (?) house rule would be, Gandalf keeps his ‘Captain of the West’ ability and can decide to choose to neutralize the Nazgul OR to use the +1 Modifier!
