Let's assume I only have cards on hand with restrictions that I do not fulfil yet so that I cannot play them. What happens then if I use an event action die (can I chose to discard the die without effect)? Can I generally chose to discard action dice even if I COULD use them but don't WANT to?
Another question: If a card states"Play only if Boromir is in the region", is it valid to play the card if the fellowship containing Boromir is in the region? Or what about "Dead Men of Dunharrow? Can Strider/Aragorn be seperated from the Fellowship by the effect of this card?

I think there was a clarification that said you could discard an action dice and not use it. There have been a few times when I've had to do this (mainly muster dice with the Fellowship player).
I think the Boromir's and Aragorn/Strider's have to be separated from the Fellowship to use their special cards.

In order to use a card that needs a Comapnion to be present the Companion must be outside of the Fellowship (i.e. you must have seperated the Companion earlier).
Yes, you can "use" an Action die and not do anything, it still counts as an Action though.

Veldrin has there been an official ruling on the discarding of an action die? I asked this question a couple weeks ago and the consensus then was that you could. Now, I'm not so sure. The reason I've changed my mind is that you must draw action cards at the beginning of each round. To a large extent this means the same thing to me.
So I think the rule should be that if you can possibly use the action die, you must. If you can't, then it can be discarded at no cost.

Read the wording on the player aid:
On all icons it says may, not must.

Is this the official ruling?
On my player aid it says can not may.
What about this part of the rules?
Starting with the Free Peoples, players alternate turns selecting one of their Action Dice and immediately taking the action made available by the specific die result.
Seems to me that part doesn't leave any room to skip an action.
But please convince me otherwise. It'd be much better if I'm allowed to discard the action of a die.

So was there an official ruling made about the discarding of dice?
Thanks!

(...) The reason I've changed my mind is that you must draw action cards at the beginning of each round. (...) I am back from a long break and have not read everything posted in the meantime and also forgot some answers given before. So please forgive me if the following question should have already been answered: "Is the above quoted statement correct or may you draw up to two event cards?"

The official ruling is that you can use an action die without taking the action.
I will update the FAQ with this tonight.
