A question on this card, please :
Help Unlooked For Attack a Shadow Army besieging a Free Peoples Stronghold with an Army in an adjacent region. For the entire battle, the Shadow player rolls one Combat die less for each Free Peoples unit in the besieged Stronghold (to a minimum of one).
Well, if I have five units in my Shadow Army, can I re-roll five rolls in the Leader Re-Roll (if of course I have no hit in the combat roll) ?
If the answer is no, I think it’s a very strong card ! In my game, a shadow army with 10 units and 2 siege towers conduct a siege on a forteress with 4 units inside and is attack by an adjacent Free people army with only 2 units. The shadow Army with only 1 dice was very weak and loose lot of units and finally retreated with the lost of the 2 siege towers !!!
Thanks.

Well, if I have five units in my Shadow Army, can I re-roll five rolls in the Leader Re-Roll (if of course I have no hit in the combat roll) ? I assume you mean if you have five Leaders in your Shadow Army. No, you can only re-roll each missed die once, no matter how many Leaders you have. So if you only attack with two dice, you can get a maximum of two re-rolls (assuming you have at least two Leaders and miss with both dice). Any Leadership over the number of Combat dice rolled is wasted. The only time Leadership above your Combat dice is useful is if you have a combat card that allows you to reduce Leadership for a combat advantage. For example, if you have five Nazgul and you are only rolling three dice, you could play They Are Terrible and reduce your Leadership to four without affecting your Leader Re-roll, since you can only re-roll three dice anyway. And yes, this is a very powerful card for breaking sieges.

It is a very strong card, but the Shadow army should have simply retreated. Towers are easily rebuilt. It takes more dice to recruit 10 units and move them back into place.

"It is a very strong card"
No. No it is not.
I do not remember the last time it was even played in a game I was in.
I can remember it being used, maybe a year ago in a game. But not since.
It requires a Free Army to help another besieged, near Free Army. That just doesn't happen in games I play.

Well, I agree that it's not easy to play this card ... but when the conditions are OK, it's a strong card for the Free Peoples.
And yes, it's the first time in 12 games that I see this card in play.
Bye.
