With the game selling out all over the place, I feel it’s time for another poll on what everyone wants from the expansion.
1. Settlement Miniatures. Perhaps this is over ambitious, but I suggest individual sculpts for the 15 strongholds, plus perhaps Edoras and Hobbiton, with generic pieces for the remaining cities and towns. Removable flags will represent player control.
2. More character miniatures. Figures for characters “missing” or represented by event cards in the original game. Examples: Galadriel, Gandalf the White on Shadowfax, Gollum, Tom Bombadil, Wormtongue, Radogast, Arwen, The King of the Dead, Eowyn; plus monsters such as Treebeard, the Kraken, Shelob and the Balrog. Some of these may require new cards to be added to the event packs.
3. More army miniatures. To give more variety to the combat units, includes such figures as Dunlendings, Easterlings, Goblins, Ents and Halfling militia.
4. Specific leader miniatures. Perhaps one for each nation, i.e. Aragorn, King of Gondor; Theoden, King of Rohan; Brand, King of Dale; Elrond, King of Imladris and Dain, King Under The Mountain. Or 4 each for the FP nations. Also new SP Minions King of Rhun, Chief of Harad and The Great Goblin of Gundabad.
5. Host miniatures. These would be used to mark large armies and groups on the map. I suggest something similar to Mighty Empires banners. If specific FP leaders are provided as under option 4 above then the original generic FP leaders could be used as flag carrying army markers.
6. Pieces (metal?) for the 3 elven rings and magical weapons.
7. More complex battles, perhaps with an Eagle Games style battle board and rules. War engine pieces might be included for siege combat.
8. More scenarios, such as the Hobbits starting in The Shire, Gimli in Edoras, Boromir in Gondor etc.
