Veldrin,
Do you have any inside scoop on whether or not the expansion is going to make its predicted October release date? And if so, do you know if it'll be early, mid or late October?
Just curious...

I have not heard anything from the designers but FFG have pushed back the release date to December on their site.
Since playtesting/tunig of the the final part of the expansion (the Gondor game) is still happening I believe it will be impossible to reach the set release for October, but if it will take as long as till December I don't know.
Don't take this move of release date to heavliy since in the end the game will be better instead of rushed and worse.

I see that Fantasy Flight Games has moved the release date for Battles of the Third Age back to January 2006.

I see that Thought Hammer has moved their expected availability date back to April. Fantasy Flight has the game listed as "printing", but with an Expected date of "March, 2005 [sic]".
I tend to think the Thought Hammer date is more realistic, but I suspect it won't slip beyond April.

I just read on BoardGameGeek.com that the games were shipped from the German factory last Friday. They're being shipped to the US by container ship and should arrive here in 3 to 4 weeks. So I'm guessing we're looking at the end of April / first of May until the games are readily available at retailers.

Yes.
Nexus Gams in Italy (the designers) will recieve their advance copies this week and the rest of the world will have them in the coming 3-5 weeks.
