Let's see... There is a planned interview with Francesco Nepitello (one of the game designers), I have sent him the questions and am awaiting the answers. But as we know the game is now in its final phase and the time is scarce for Francesco to answer the questions so I have no exact date for when the interview will be posted. As a treat here is an image of the Free Peoples Control Marker used when the Free Peoples wrest control of a Settlement from the Shadow. (Please note that the image is a preview of Art by John Howe from "War of the Ring" a game published by Nexus Editrice under license from Sophisticated Games and Tolkien Enterprises.)In the meantime ask any questions you like and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability... thanks Veldrin, i was at the gama convention & was able to see the character prototypes (& fortunately meet the designers) but i'm most curious about the specifics of the fellowship movement. steve's pics of the playtest seem to have 2 grids with markers on them off the mapboard. this must be related; i'm guessing that the fellowship would at least know the region they are currently in with nazgul designated to expose first the region & then using a battlship-type guessing system about an exact location. can you go into deatail for us info starved gamers? thanks

I will try to explain without giving it all away...
When the Free Peoples player uses the apropriate Action die to move the Fellowship he actually moves a marker on the track (ranging from 0 - 13, see the picture on the reports page). The the Shadow player tries to locate and impede the Fellowship, this is called the Hunt. The result from a successfull Hunt can be all from simply finding what region the Fellowship is in to actually managing to kill of some of the Companions.
When the Shadow manages to reveal what region the Fellowship is in the Free Peoples player sees on what step on the track the Fellowship marker is and moves the Fellowship miniature that many regions on the actual game board(with some restrictions due to the fact that they where revealed by agents of the Shadow).
The FP player can also choose to reveal the Fellowship in the beginning of each turn (this is called Declaring the Fellowship). This can be used to put the Fellowship miniature i friendly Settlements for resting and healing.
The Nazgûl can not reveal the Fellowship on their own but provide modifiers to the Hunt and increases the likelyhood of it being succesfull if they are present in the same region as the Fellowship miniature.
Hope this clarifies it a bit.
Any more questions?
