Hi love war of the ring seccond edition and the new lords of middle earth expansion. I was just wondering if the battles of the third age expansion from the first edition will ever be realeased for the seccond edition, i hope so as only own the seccond edition, if not would it be worth buying the battles of the third age purely for the gondor and rohan scenarios, any comments would be nice. yours Jonny.

There are plans to release three "mini" expasions focusing on Lords, Factions, and Siege, respectively.
When (if) all three are released all that was covered by the first edition expansion to the main game, and more, will be covered.
The Battle games, however, will not be covered by these expansions, and if they will be released as a stand alone game is uknown.
If you like Lord f the Rings you will enjoy the Gondor and Rohan game and if you own the Second Edition all you need to play the Battle game are some generic counters to use as damage counters.

so all other than the scenarios are being released, but are the gondor and rohan scenario worth the cost of the whole expansion and if so what would you use as generic counters. furthermore are there any rules which have the base game and the scenarios interlinked and affecting each other or do they have to be seperate.

The battle games are separate from the main game.
Ay small tokens can be used as damage counters (e.g. Unit tokens from Axis & Allies).
If you like Lord of the Rings, and have a regular opponent who also likes it, the battles (Gondor and Rohan) are, in my opinion, worth the cost as they make up 90% of what is in the box.

thanks but are there rules so that the outcomes of the scenarios affect the main game or each other, so that they can be combined with the main game to create a massive experience

There are no official rules linking the scenarios to the main game - I think that would indeed be a MASSIVE undertaking and not something I would be prepared to play. But Veldrin created a set of rules to connect the Rohan and Gondor scenarios to each other. It's available from his download page.

Well, you DO meed the Battles of the Third Age expansion of course.
Veldrin meant that you do need a few extra damage counters, as BotTA used the 1st edition unit replacement markers for that, which are not included in the 2nd edition.
