Hello I'm from Brazil, and bought the second edition of War of the Ring, addicted in the game and want to buy the expansion (third Battles of age), I found one here in Brazil I am afraid however that the Expansion of the first edition is not compatible with the second. I wonder if it's compatible or whether they will launch the Expansion for the second edition I would rather wait to launch. grateful

Welcome, Luiz!
The Battles of the Third Age expansion actually contains three things. The first is the Twilight of the Third Age expansion for War of the Ring. Unfortunately, this is not compatible with the Second Edition, as the cards are different sizes. If this is what you're after, you're better off waiting for the Second Edition expansions, which will be coming.
However, it also contains two other games, Battle for Rohan and Battle for Gondor, which are separate games from War of the Ring. These are "campaign" level games that focus on these Nations. They have very similar mechanics to War of the Ring, but combat is at a more tactical level. They do require the use of some components from War of the Ring in order to be played, but almost all of these can still be found in the Second Edition. The only thing missing are the Unit Replacement Counters, which can be easily be replaced by mini poker chips or some other component either improvised or scavenged from another game. These are great games in their own right, so I recommend that you consider the expansion on their strength alone.

Thanks for the clarification, as you already said there is a project of the expansion for the second edition, so I'll wait to use the material throughout the second edition.
Thank you, hugs.

I came in contact with the manufacturer and they informed me that the expansion is scheduled for September this year.
