After re-reading the rules and many of the scenario forums a couple of times there are a couple of questions that come to mind for clarifications:
1. It appears that King Theoden can be recruited into Edoras, even if it is Shadow controlled, although obviously not with a calvary unit. Correct?
2. Units in E.&W d**e are protected 1st round of combat from attacks from the North OR the other side of the stream, but once the Hornburg has been breached, the wall offers no protection. (In the rules, it states the d**e offers protection, but the picture is of the wall and not the d**e).
3. The only way to kill Saruman is to wipe out an army residing in Orthanc. In which case, it is a FP win.
4. But, if NO army is in orthanc, the ents can wander right in, but effect nothing. (ie. they do not attack)
5. ...then if the SP forces the Entmoot to retreat from Orthanc to Deringale, the Stronghold still retains its 8 hit value, as it was never actually attacked. Correct?
6. Saruman takes position 3, but has no wargs, can he substatute it with an Uruk-hai?
7. The only thing Rout does is make you take casulties for damage counters
8. You can always retreat to a region bordering an enemy or accross a stream or ford, but simply must take 1 damage counter for doing so.

1. It appears that King Theoden can be recruited into Edoras, even if it is Shadow controlled, although obviously not with a calvary unit. Correct? Correct. 2. Units in E.&W d**e are protected 1st round of combat from attacks from the North OR the other side of the stream, but once the Hornburg has been breached, the wall offers no protection. (In the rules, it states the d**e offers protection, but the picture is of the wall and not the d**e). The picture is of the wrong area. 3. The only way to kill Saruman is to wipe out an army residing in Orthanc. In which case, it is a FP win. Yup. 4. But, if NO army is in orthanc, the ents can wander right in, but effect nothing. (ie. they do not attack) Correct. 5. ...then if the SP forces the Entmoot to retreat from Orthanc to Deringale, the Stronghold still retains its 8 hit value, as it was never actually attacked. Correct? Correct. 6. Saruman takes position 3, but has no wargs, can he substatute it with an Uruk-hai? No. He will only get as many wargs as are available. 7. The only thing Rout does is make you take casulties for damage counters Correct. 8. You can always retreat to a region bordering an enemy or accross a stream or ford, but simply must take 1 damage counter for doing so. No, it may only do so if there are no "safe" Regions to which to retreat, and the attacker will choose the Region.
