Hello,
I have made a few games with "battles of the third age" (Rohan and Gondor), had some questions on the rules and carefully checked the FAQ and this forum to get answers. I was very glad to find answers to all my questions, but while reading the different messages, I now have 2 new questions on points I thought were clear!
1. Topic "Place and flip!"
In this topic, it is explained that, for Gondor battle and with the "place and flip" event card, it is possible to use ANY recruitment token in ANY shadow army, ie.evil men with a Sauron army. It is also explained that Rohan can not do the same, so I understand that FP can only place and flip Gondor token inside ANY army?
But, on p. 28 of the rulebook, it is written:
ADDING UNITS TO AN ARMY USING A “PLACE AND FLIP” EVENT CARD
Some Event cards instruct a player to “place and flip” a recruitment token in an Army in play. This means that the player:
1) picks a Recruitment token belonging to the same Nation of at least one Unit in the Army, then
2) flips the token to see the correct number or type of Unit to place, then
3) places the newly recruited Unit(s) in the chosen Army.
This is were I am lost! The rulebook seemed quite clear, and point 1 is in contradiction with the explanation found on the forum. Which is the correct rule?
2. Topic "WHEN is a stronghold breached"
On this topic, there is the following answer (on border types): "The wall provides protection for Armies inside, but the wall itself will not damage an Army for retreating across it. Only streams and fords do that."
My question is on fords: the french rulebook only mentions damages when retreating through streams. Is there also a damage when retreating through fords?
Thanks.
