So I'm constantly checking my inbox, waiting to see which barbarian is going to hand me my bottom. Will it be the barbarians that I know and fear? Or will it be some lurker who's entered the tournament anonymously?
Gosh, entering anonymously would have been wily. Should'a thought of that. Then there'd have been no stagefright.
d**n, gotta remember how to play this game... anyone wanna play?

By the afternoon of Sept. 8th I'll know my fates... back to back games the previous night into early morning will leave me awake the rest of the night wondering where I went wrong or having me peacefully sleep, dreaming of dunking and finding the one ring....
Now it's just a case of not burning out in anticipation for a couple multi-country slug fests! Gotta love the world wide draw the tournament had!

And I'll know mine . . . tomorrow! Playing both back to back. And here I am awake into the wee hours of the night - I suppose giving my opponents a sleep advantage.

just played 90% of my first online game.
Mr W stopped at quarter to 3 in his morning. 2 sports to go in Mordor, 8 Corruption and The king is charging Umbar.
Playing newbie versus newbie would be tough. Playing without the cards infront of you is really hard, blanking them REALLY makes it harder. Can I play this card? Wonder what it does?
the right click / left click took a little thinking. and sometimes it is frustrating figuring out what and how what goes where.
The fact it is a sandpit does help fix things when they go wrong.
Card selection is difficult in battles, well for me anyway. It is a lot harder in a few ways. It is easier in others. Takes a little time to settle in.
Thanks Mr W

Play to the stunning conclusion at the same time as yesterday?
Free People got divine intervention grade development early. To name just a few cases, Rohan fought Isengard to a draw at the first battle of the Fords of Isen. DEW may yet weather Mordor Alpha without giving up a VP.
However, the Fellowship has stalled out 3 steps away with 8 corruption and a bad pool. And Sauron's days of rolling 5 eyes seem to be behind him.

In my first online game last night I found it essential to have the physical event cards and minion/companion cards at my desk. Especially for keeping track of the Play only if... restrictions at the top of some Events and combat effects.

Had a good first session of play today, even if I made a couple of play mistakes. Went through about half the game I guess.
But what I /hate/ is that I keep hitting Del when I want to correct my bad typing in the chatline and *poof* away goes that big stack I just selected again, or my dice, or my combat car, or, or, or. Stopped counting the times I had to retrieve something from the casualties.
Please, please, please, in the next update (if one ever comes), don't make shortcut keys work while the chatline has the focus.

Btw, Uthoroc, you have two siege towers to bring back from *accidental delete land* to the embattled WR when you return.

*chuckles* Thanks for noticing Alan. Sean was so nice to provide me my very own program version where I have to use Ctrl-Del to kill something. That will keep my frustration levels down... and the game moving more speedily. Thanks, Sean!

I am only 15 years old, so i must go to school. However time our country is different. I live in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, GMT +1. You live in Melbourne, GTM +10 (eg in Bosnia it is 1pm, Melbourne 10pm). So I would be able to play from 8-12 (4hours) or we can save the game. It is 17-21 in your city. My e-mail adress is alija.vila@hotmail.com so put me on your contacts for the while.

Ralf,
Your spam filter has started bouncing my email (!?). So, the best I can do today is to start at 9 or at worst 9:30 pm your time today. Hope to *see* you then.
Regards,
Alan

Hmph... I deactivated the spam filter. It's over-sensitive.
I'll be there at 9pm then.

I guess you guys have gotten past this by now, but for future reference:
Everything you do is saved, even if you don't use the "save" feature. If you go to your logs folder there are a bunch of automatically generated logs with names based on the date and time your session started.
If your PC crashed mid-game, and you started the program up again, and look in the log folder: -The newest one will be an empty log for the session you just started. -The second-newest one will be the log of your previous, interrupted session, and it will have everything you did in it.
