Here is the situation. Mithril Coat and Sting is on the table. I attempt to move the fellowship (not in Mordor). My opponent makes a Hunt Roll and gets one success. He draws a tile from the Hunt Pool; it has the number 3. I discard Mithril Coat and Sting forcing him to draw another tile. The second tile has an Eye on it. What is the value of the Hunt Damage? My opponent says 1, and I say 0. I point to the rules (pg 20, bold emphasis is mine): "If the tile shows an 'Eye,' the Hunt Damage is equal to the number of successes rolled in the Hunt Roll (if such a tile was drawn because of the Fellowship leaving or entering the a Shadow Stonghold, or due to an Event Card, the 'Eye' is considered to have a value of 0)." I think the RAW backs me up. Thoughts?

I would say that hunt damage is 1.
It probably refers to cards like Orc Patrol, Foul Thing From the Deep.
Nazgul Strike is an event card that is used to roll for a hunt:
If you roll couple of hits, drawing an eye shouldn't erase them. I think things are same for Mithril Coat and Sting

I would agree with Lord Aaragorn, the results of the 2nd tile must be applied as if it was drawn 1st. Although cudos for trying! ;)I like your thinking. I wonder what Veldrin will say.
FYI: I would recommend keeping Mithril Coat until Mordor where those nasty "Special tiles" move you back! Plus the dice could give you a nasty 6 hits which suddenly can switch an easy win to a loss.

Lord Aragorn and Genghissean are correct. The rule that you quoted on page 20 refers to tile draws that are done as a result of the playing of an Event card (such as Orc Patrol), rather than a standard Hunt. The reason that Eyes are discarded under these circumstances is that there are no Hunt roll successes to give them a damage value.
In contrast, an Event card such as Mithril Coat and Sting which causes a tile redraw will simply result in a new tile being drawn under the same conditions as the original tile. If the original tile was drawn as a result of a successful Hunt, an Eye will still do damage according to the number of successes. If it was drawn as the result of an Event card, an Eye will still be discarded without effect.
