hi all
I wonder if we are playing correctly the rules of the Minas Tirith stronghold on the Gondor Scenario. From now, we think it's useless to attack any part of the wall but the main gate.
Can several armies around Minas Tirith initate a combined attack? What if they're against the same wall protection?
Can the defendant army make a sortie against any sieging army or only against those on the Great Gate entrance? Does the stronghold protection apply in that case? (I think not)
You can't use leadership on trebuchets attacks, can you?
At the start of the scenario, if a FP army wants to retreat into Minas tirith, it must be done by the Great Gate, right?
So far we find that the only real strategy for de WK is to storm the walls of the gate, the weakest point in the wall, and send his armies against it one after another. It's rare that the trebuchets came into useful (even with teh "siege of Gondor" card in play). ¿One die to make a single-round attack? ¿and with no re-rolls?
Thanks for any help/advice you can give on the subject.

hi all I wonder if we are playing correctly the rules of the Minas Tirith stronghold on the Gondor Scenario. From now, we think it's useless to attack any part of the wall but the main gate. Can several armies around Minas Tirith initate a combined attack? What if they're against the same wall protection? Yes, they can, as long as they aren't using Siege Towers. The damage from each Army is applied to the wall section that it's facing. Can the defendant army make a sortie against any sieging army or only against those on the Great Gate entrance? Does the stronghold protection apply in that case? (I think not) The defending Army can attack any Army adjacent to it, but it may only advance after combat through the Great Gate or a breached wall section. The Stronghold protection would not apply in such an attack, since it is the defender's terrain type that applies. You can't use leadership on trebuchets attacks, can you? No. At the start of the scenario, if a FP army wants to retreat into Minas tirith, it must be done by the Great Gate, right? Yes. Movement and retreats into or out of Minas Tirith can only be made through the Great Gate or a breached wall section. Have you tried using Siege Towers? They can prove useful, since the attacking Army can ignore the Stronghold protection. Hope this helps!
