1. Attacking Minas Tiriath gates, it has 1 protection left. I roll 6,5,5,3,1. Gothmog rolls 2 re-rolls, both 5. The dice are rolled simultaneously, thus is the Stronghold breached on the first hit, resulting in a total of 5 hits? or do none of the 5 actually count as a hit? VERY IMPORTANT!
2. The wall surounding Pelenor provides protection for the 1st round on all troops inside, correct? And any army retreating from inside to outside suffers 1 extra damage correct?

The to-hit number is not reduced until the next combat round. If more 6s were rolled, they would be applied to the Army inside the Stronghold. 2. The wall surounding Pelenor provides protection for the 1st round on all troops inside, correct? And any army retreating from inside to outside suffers 1 extra damage correct? It provides protection for Armies inside, but the wall itself will not damage an Army for retreating across it. Only streams and fords do that.
