The Gandalf ability in the Rohan game refers to "using and discarding" an action token to convert a die to Will of the West.
Q. Can that Will of the West be used immediately in this action, or must it wait for the next or a future action round?

You use the Action token as normal but instead of applying one of its normal effects you use it as a Will of the West and then discard the token for the rest of the game.

does 'as normal' mean, you are onöy allowed to play an action token, when you are able to pass or do nothing (i.e. when you have fewer action dice left then the shadow player)?

I originally posed this question to Doug because the wording on the Gandalf character card is quite different between the Rohan and Gondor sides.
The Rohan makes it sound like to use a token as normal then discard it to convert a die to WOTW. I would use it later on as WOTW. The Gondor side says to use the token as a WOTW.
Are they meant to be played the same?

It is the same ability in both scenarios.

Hi, bringing up an old question but I am still confused about what the official answer is. In the FAQ it says that the ability should be the same for both scenarios - Ok. It then states that is is the dice conversion wording that is correct (the Rohan one), not the version stated in this post (although it is a very old post!)
So, if that is the case can the dice be used immediately or does the player have to wait for his next turn?

You must wait until your next turn.
