Question #1: if the settlements where Strider must stay to be crowned as Aragorn are conquered by the Shadow, may Strider be "upgraded" as well? I ask this because in the games I played the Shadow always moved into Gondor too early for Strider to reach it.
Question #2: does the event card "dead men of dunland" (I don't know the english name, this is only a translation from italian version - however is the card that allows you to move Aragorn to Pelargir, fight a Shadow army if there is one and recruit 3 units) work even if the region is conquered by the Shadow but is ungarrisoned? And, if yes, does the Shadow lose control of Pelargir?

1 Strider cannot be crowned in a Region belonging to the Shadow so if the Shadow captures Pelargir, Minas Tirith and Dol Amroth before Strider gets there he can't be upgraded to Aragorn, Heit to isildur.
2 If the Region is empty it is re-captured by the FP player.
