We ran across a question when we played yesterday regarding Strider's promotion. The Aragorn card states that in order to crown him, Strider must be in Dol Amroth, Minas Tirith, or Pelargir. In our situation, the Shadow forces had taken and were occupying Pelargir & Dol Amroth, and Minas Tirith was under siege. The rules state that a character cannot enter a stronghold under siege; but they also say that armies do not interfere with a character's movement otherwise.
The logical side of me believes that Strider can't just toodle on into an enemy occupied settlement, grab his crown & say "Yo - I'm 'da king now!". However, I can't find anything in the rules that specifically forbid this. Did I overlook something?

Strider can't be crowned in Dol Amroth, Pelargir or Minas Tirith if the Shadwo has taken the Settlement.
If Minas Tirith or Dol Amroth is under siege Strider cannot enter the Region (clearly stated in the rules) so then he can't be crowned in those Regions.

There are, of course, a couple of event cards which allow companions to enter a stronghold under siege so Strider could get in by this route and be crowned as the Heir of Isildur - might not last long though!

[glow=green,2,300]Veldrin[/glow] Yesterday, I have played the game for the first time and I do still not get the point why a companion may not move into or out of a region in which a siege takes place. Of he should not be able to leave the stronghold, if he is within the besieged army but to move into this region from an adjacent one and move out again should be OK IMHO. I have started a new thread on this topic (companions movement through a besieged region).
