I have another event card question. This time it is Shadow Player's Character Event Card number 23/24. The combat effect is called "Words of Power". My question is how this would interact with Gandalf the White.
Gandalf the White's special ability "The White Rider" is applied before the battle begins. He forfeits his leadership and negates the leadership from all Nazgul in the battle. This effect lasts for the entire battle.
If the Shadow player then plays "Words of Power" as a combat card, can he target Gandalf? And if so, what is the effect for the current round and for the rest of the battle?
I can see this working out in several different ways -
1) Gandalf's ability is applied first and cannot be undone once it takes affect. The "Words of Power" cannot target Gandalf in this instance.
2) The Word's of Power cancel Gandlaf's special ability for one round only, then Gandalf's ability is back in force.
3) The Word's of Power cancel Gandlaf's special ability for the round. But since Gandalf's ability can only be enacted prior to battle, it cannot be re-enacted. In essence Gandalf's ability is canceled for the battle.
Which is right? or are they all wrong?

Hmmm... I can't recall the Words of Power card... what does it do again?
Based on order (and assuming that WoP deals with Nazgul leadership being in combat), I would assume #1, but without knowing the card I couldn't say.

The card would render Gandalf's ability to negate Nazgûl Leadership useless for one combat round.
Your second option was the correct one.
