How is Gollum's role captured in the game? Are there event cards for both Fellowship and Sauron? What happens when he is the guide?

Gollum becomes the guide of the fellowship if no companions are present. He is represented by a character card but no figure. His card, if I remember correctly, allows a reduction in the hunt value at the cost of being revealed and reduces the chance of being revealed otherwise. There are two special hunt tiles, one red, one blue that provide a - or + 1 to the hunt value if drawn. There are also some event cards that are more beneficial if Gollum is the guide. He counts as 1 companion for the purpose of allocating dice to the hunt which means only 1 die may be placed in the hunt box when he is the guide.

Kind of off-topic, but can rolling the Eye in your normal dice rolls allow you to exceed the maximum allocation to the Hunt while in Mordor? So e.g. if Frodo/Sam/Gollum are soldiering through Mordor and the SA player can only put one die into the Hunt but he rolls two more Eyes on his dice, does he then have 3 Hunt dice when the Eye comes up on the tile draw?
I think that question reflects the reality of the search process, but if I'm making a mistake in I disagreeumptions please let me know!

Yes, up to a maximum of five dice in all, both in and out of Mordor. Also remember the Shadow player can use an Elven Ring to change one of his dice to an eye
