I believe I read that the FP's armies cannot be replaced once defeated and that Sauron's armies are unlimited. I assume this means that the FP's player must permanently discard any lost units. If this is correct can you tell during your play test did the FP ever run short of armies? What is the distribution of armies amoung the FP? eg. Do the Dwarves get as many potential units as Gondor? If Sauron attacks a region relentlessly is it possible the FP player will simply run out of replacement armies?

Correct. Well, it happens. I mean, it never happened that ALL FP armies are gone, but that a single FP nation runs out of troops is quite possible. Moreover, it can happen that well placed SA armies conquer all settlements of a FP nation, making mustering impossible. All nations have individual armies, based on our view of the 'historical' military situation. So, for example Dwarves get less units than Gondor. Also, the availability of Elite units is sensibly different (for example, Elves get more Elite than Regulars). Sure.
