We had our first complete game and I think, for the most part, we did everything right! A few questions came up, mostly in regards to battles. 1) 10 units max per territory. Now is that 10 units counting 2 per elites (i.e. 3 elites [3x2=6] + 4 single = 10 units) or does the type of unit not matter (i.e. 4 elites and 6 single). 2) When rolling die for the battle, both the attacker and defender can only kill, right? It's not like RISK where ties go to the defense and the don't lose anything. Let's say FP attacks the SP and both roll 5 die and each score 2 hits. Both the FP and SP lose 2 units, right? 3) Casualties for the FP are out of the game permanently? There's no way, aside from event cards to bring them back? (Only ask this because the SP kept committing a large amount of die for the hunt and fellowship movement was slow. This caused the FP to focus on armies for a while but with the casualties inflicted, after a few turns this didn't seem like a good idea). 4) You can only muster troops in towns, cities, strongholds, and fortifications, yes? So an army on the move that is in a neutral territory, can not add additional troops using a muster die? 5) Once the fellowship reaches Mordor, if there are still beige tiles left, then you add the additional blue and red special tiles and continue? You don't put back all used beige tiles until all 16 have been used up? I'm sure more questions will come up but that seems like enough for now

1) 10 units max per territory. Now is that 10 units counting 2 per elites (i.e. 3 elites [3x2=6] + 4 single = 10 units) or does the type of unit not matter (i.e. 4 elites and 6 single). It is 10 units, no matter the type! Elites and Regulars all count as one unit per figure. 2) When rolling die for the battle, both the attacker and defender can only kill, right? It's not like RISK where ties go to the defense and the don't lose anything. Let's say FP attacks the SP and both roll 5 die and each score 2 hits. Both the FP and SP lose 2 units, right? Yes. Each player rolls to hit, it is not about rolling higher than your opponent. There are no ways to Muster units form the FP "dead pile" back, not even from Event cards. Units mustered through Event cards are also taken from the reinforcements. The only time the FP can put units from the "dead pile" on the board is when downgrading an Elite unit to Regular status (from recieving one hit or when downgrading to continue a siege battle) 4) You can only muster troops in towns, cities, strongholds, and fortifications, yes? So an army on the move that is in a neutral territory, can not add additional troops using a muster die? You can only muster units in Settlements (Towns, Cities, and Strongholds), not in Fortifications. And only in the Settlements that belong to the nation mustering units (and is still in that nation's control). 5) Once the fellowship reaches Mordor, if there are still beige tiles left, then you add the additional blue and red special tiles and continue? You don't put back all used beige tiles until all 16 have been used up? Any special tiles (blue and red tiles) and all previously drawn EYEs are reinserted into the Hunt Pool. Any previously drawn standard tiles (beige tiles) without EYEs are kept out of the Hunt Pool.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help with these questions. I'm really enjoying the game, but needed a little bit of help to get going. Thank you!
