I think in the Collector's Ed. they need to get rid of the silly Gandalf the White condition in order to use the ents. Either Pippin or Merry should be able to activate them, and if you use Both, then NO MUSTER DIE REQUIRED! TWO ents should automatically be mustterd if you use both.

Definetly. This is a major problem with the ents.

I love the merry and pippin idea! Not only does it make more thematic sense, it would add a sense of suspense around the ents from the beginning, and be way more exciting. Gives Gandalf way more options. AND solves the weak ent problem.
