I think the ents should start off with at least 2 ents, which make the 1st time you use them a little more interresting.

Definately 2. 3 would make them too powerful and put a handicap on Saruman.

i dunno. I think they come in with one, but the card gives them three ents that hit on 4+

I was considering having the Ents start with 2 when mustered and also use the house rule that Ent attacks that completely eliminate shadow forces allow the Ent to be placed in the attacked region (instead of removed).
What about having the initial Ents start at 1 + h. where h is the number of hobbits (Merry/Pippin) present in Fangorn when the Ent faction is mustered. This would allow up to 3 Ents in Fangorn if both hobbits are present.

Smart. I was unsure about 2 or 1 Ent. This sound best for me.

Historically, six different companions spent time in Fangorn. Merry & Pippin escaped from the orc warband Gandalf the White rode there from Lorien The Three Hunters met Gandalf there after failing to rescue Merry & Pippin.
In game terms, why would a player ever have a stopover for more than 1 companion in Fangorn? I think the rules could reflect some advantage to getting LOTS of companions into Fangorn.

In order to get full use out of the hobbits the FP will need to either have the Fellowship move close to Fangorn or have a high number on the FP track so that the Hobbits can separate to Fangorn. Then if the FP wants to use the Hobbits elsewhere they will most likely need another companion to move them (maybe GtW?). I think that this will often be Aragorn or one of the 2 pt companions too.
Getting 3 Ents in Fangorn initially may be too strong but it does require FP planning/effort too accomplish.

I like the idea of 1 extra Ent for a Hobbit, but two Hobbits should automatically muster the 2 Ents WITHOUT a die. This shows how the hobbits SPED the Ents faster to war. 3 Ents is a little too much I think.
Also, Spirits has a great house rule that if all enemy in a region are eliminated, the ent stays and is NOT removed.
