I played as the Shadow and my friend played as the FP.
Early on SA muster Isengard to war and got Saruman out, sending a large force to blitz Helm's Deep. At the same time, forces mustered and mobilized out of the South and Mordor, moving to the edge of Gondor's lands. While this happened, the Fellowship moved at a decent rate, relatively unhindered, until Moria, where the Balrog was encountered and they lost Gimli, as well as suffering some corruption. As this happened, quietly an elite and one or two regulars were gathering in the East.
As the Fellowship progressed it was realized that Lorien needed to fall, so Dol Guldur spawned some orcs and trolls and moved against them, with a small supplementary troop of uruks. Lorien fell as the ring arrived, and Legolas fell defending it (healing one or no corruption, I forget). Now the FSP was constantly hunted by parties of orcs and Nazgul, while Rohan was entirely subjugated. In the South, a medium-sized (~5 units) army stormed an abandoned Dol Amroth that had emptied to assisted Pelargir against the Southrons. Osgiliath fell to a full army with Nazgul and Pelargir was taken. The fight against Minas Tirith stalled as the army withered in a few rolls, but was reinvigorated by the Witch King and another horde from Mordor, as well as the remaining Southrons from Dol Amroth and Pelargir, which combined to apply pressure from the south. Meanwhile, several Wargs and Uruk-hai had moved through Rohan and arrived at the walls of Minas Tirith, giving another point of pressure from the north. The quiet force in the East mobilized and decimated Dale in one fell stroke, then turned to the Woodland Realm, meanwhile the Dwarves were busy in their stone halls, not caring for the world outside.
So now fellowship has no companions. Merry has died, Pippin, Gandalf and Aragorn are beseiged in Minas Tirith, and the Woodland Realm is also beseiged. SA has (Helm's Deep, Edoras, Lorien, Dol Amroth, Pelargir, Dale) 9 VP, and just needs to crack one stronghold to take the win.
Meanwhile the fellowship player is stuck in Anorien as he tried to make a break for Mordor, but corrupted too high to set foot with any chance of victory, and simultaneously revealed, decided to stay in Anorien so that one move would take him to Minas Tirith, his last hope for healing and a sprint to destroy the ring. However, every time he moved, my earlier bad hunt rolls seemed to have reversed, and each successful hunt also revealed him, forcing him to remain there. As my friend summed it up after the game "Frodo could not pay the necessary toll to the Nazgul to get into Minas Tirith"
The game ended with a successful purging of the Woodland Realm.
