I'm currently making the German FAQ for the Expansion and have a bunch of questions for you to answer.
1.) The FAQ says for the Battle games:
"Q How many Action Dice can the players obtain?
A The maximum number of Action Dice in the Pool (at any time) is nine for the Shadow and six for the Free Peoples. "
But what about Event Cards that add Action Dice to the pool? Can they not increase the maximum number?
2.) The FAQ says for Shadow Leadership Tokens in the Battle games:
"Q Can the Shadow move Army A from a Region but leave any Leadership tokens behind since with the same die he also moves army B into the Region in which he left the Leadership tokens behind?
A Yes, if this can be done in the proper sequence: move army B into the Region, move army A out of that. The two armies are not assumed to merge until the end of the movement. However if you leave the Leaders behind while they are not with any army, they are immediately removed."
Basically the question says that any kind of Leaders can never be left behind, right? Otherwise it would imply that you can deliberately eliminate your leaders by leaving them behind. I think this should not be allowed.
3.) The FAQ says for Twilight of the Third Age:
"Q 'Wind From the West' - Can it be used to discard the 'We Shall Get It' Sméagol card if it is in play?
A Yes."
Does this imply that "We shall get it" is treated like an ordinary Shadow Character Card when it is in play, on the table? Can it be removed like such a card?
4.) I don't get it why (according to TotTA-FAQ) the Shadow can build Siege Engines when attacking conquered Shadow Strongholds, but the Free Peoples cannot when defending them.
5.) According to the rules for the Battle games (page 16, advancing after combat, last sentence):
"A Leader attached to the Army may be left behind without any Units."
I hope that is a typo?
6.) According to the German rules you cannot eliminate Recruitement tokens if you move through a Region when doing a multiple-Regions-move, you're only capable of doing that in the Region where you end the move. The English rules are not clear in this aspect. The say "at the end of a movement" (page 12, Eliminating Recruitement Tokens). What exactly is defined as the end of a movement?
7.) Siege Engines in the Gondor Battle game (not in TotTA):
is there an unlimited amount of those available? The rules don't mention it.
8.) Twilight of the Third Age, New Rules for War of the Ring: The German rules contain two rules not contained in my copy of the English rules (it's not the final one, because as you know it's not available).
"Movement of Characters with Level 0: They can never leave a Region, not even with an Army."
"Hunt Effect if the Fellowship has been revealed or declared:
If the Fellowship's position is declared and Hunt Tiles have to be drawn (movement through Shadow Stronghold for example) then all reveal icons on them are ignored if the Fellowship was declared in a City or Stronghold of the Free Peoples.
If the Fellowship has been revealed (no matter how) and more than one Tile has to be drawn, their effect is applied one after the other, starting with the Tile that revealed the Fellowship, followed by Tiles drawn because of abilities and events and finally Tiles from moving through Shadow Strongholds."
Are both of these rules also in the English TotTA rulebook?
9.) Twilight rules, Restriction to Minion Movement:
Does this rule apply to the Witch-king, too? What about ordinary Nazgûl?
10.) In the German Twilight rules it says that Sméagol cannot remove corruption from the Fellowship by using his declare ability (which refers to healing in a City or Stronghold of the Free Peoples). Is that correct?
11.) The Twilight rules say nothing about the Corsair ship limit. Can they be rebuilt when destroyed?
12.) According to the movement rules of the Corsair ships (Twilight rules) they can transport armies to free Regions as a movement Action. Free Regions are defined as Regions without armies or enemy controlled settlements in the WotR-FAQ. The same FAQ says that you can enter a Region controlled by the enemy with a movement Action. I see a contradiction there. Was it really the intention of this rule to force Shadow armies to make an attack Action to enter enemy controlled Regions without armies from a ship, while on land you can simply move to take them, no matter if you are Shadow or Free Peoples?
13.) Twilight, Event Card "The Corsairs are upon us!":
If you read the above question and then the event of this card you see that it has the same problem. It says you can attack, but only after the movement which has again to be to a free Region.
14.) Twilight, Event Card "Deep Trenches and Great Engines":
Can you mix the effects and eliminate a Trebuchet and muster a tower?
15.) Rohan Game, Gríma Card "Láthspell!":
The Card text is confusing. I guess it means you can discard any FP action die, even a Will of the West if you want to?
16.) Rohan and Gondor Game, Story Event Card "Few men to guard your walls/Great Dread":
What exactly counts as a Reinforcement Counter? Does it have to be one that was not placed during setup?
17.) Rohan and Gondor Game, Story Event Card "You have no colour now!/The Phial of Galadriel":
This is supposed to be a "2+another draw" tile, right? It says something else in my version of the Master Document.
18.) Rohan Game, Story Event Card "Westu Théoden hál!":
This is a bit confusing. I suppose you can only place the Recruitment Tokens if Théoden is in play when you play the card, not after he has entered the game with the help of this card, right?
19.) Rohan Game, rules and rules summary sheet:
The Dunlendings have a tactics token, but no special ability. Can they use the token for anything, or is it even forbidden to use it?
20.) Gondor Game, Aragorn's ability "Black Sails":
Who can use that ability? Any Free Peoles army coming from that Recruitment Area once Aragorn is in play, or just armies containing Aragorn?
